Our Committees

For IDA, committees serve as both governance bodies and collaborative fora where members can address a wide range of operational, strategic, and thematic areas. These committees will facilitate knowledge sharing, networking, and collaborative initiatives, making them valuable for both IDA and its members. IDA will have two types of committees: disease area-specific committees and cross-cutting committees. These committees will help guide IDA’s work in key focus areas:

Specialized Committees

These committees will focus on particular infectious disease areas, helping to develop targeted advocacy and policy strategies, as well as serve as a space for exchange and collaboration. Each committee will have experts from relevant fields and will work on specific issues such as:

  • Vaccine-Preventable Diseases

  • Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)

  • HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

  • Respiratory Infections

  • Vector-Borne Diseases

  • Zoonotic Diseases

  • Emerging Infectious Diseases

  • One Health

  • Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)

  • Integrated primary health-care
