About the Coalition

The Primary Healthcare Coalition is a global, inclusive advocacy and action platform dedicated to advancing integrated people-centered primary healthcare as the foundation of universal health coverage, health equity, and resilient health systems.

Hosted by the Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA), the coalition brings together civil society, governments, multilateral institutions, donors, the private sector, and communities to co-create, advocate, and drive integrated and equitable Public healthcare strategies.


About The Role

The Membership Director working closely with the Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) and PHCC members serves as the strategic architect and relationship leader for the coalition’s growing membership base. This role ensures the coalition remains inclusive, diverse, high-functioning, and member-driven, strengthening engagement and value for all members.



Responsibilities

Membership Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive membership strategy aligned with the coalition’s mission and global advocacy work.

  • Identify and recruit new members across civil society, government, academic institutions, multilaterals, private sector, and community networks.

  • Maintain an updated membership framework, including criteria, categories, onboarding pathways, and engagement tiers.

Member Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for coalition members.

  • Facilitate meaningful participation of members in working groups, campaigns, and events.

  • Conduct routine check-ins and listening sessions to understand member priorities, needs, and partnership opportunities.

  • Ensure clear communication of relevant opportunities, updates, and upcoming actions.

Onboarding & Retention

  • Manage a streamlined, welcoming onboarding process for new members.

  • Track participation and engagement to support member retention and satisfaction.

  • Create and maintain a Membership Welcome Pack, orientation materials, and resources.

Coalition Governance & Coordination

  • Support the PHC Coalition’s governance model by ensuring balanced representation of members across regions and sectors.

  • Coordinate with the PHC Coalition Lead and Coalition Manager to integrate membership-related insights into strategic planning and advocacy priorities.

Communications & Visibility

  • Work closely with communications teams to highlight member achievements, stories, and collaborative work.

  • Maintain the membership directory, profiles, and coalition contact lists.

  • Lead the development of a quarterly member highlights report or member-focused newsletter content.

Data, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and analyze membership trends, growth, and engagement metrics.

  • Develop periodic reports for leadership, partners, and internal planning.

  • Maintain member databases and CRM tools to ensure data quality and accessibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, global health, international relations, communications, public administration, or similar.

  • 3-5 years of experience in membership management, partnership development, coalition-building, stakeholder engagement, or similar roles.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for relationship-driven work.

  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders across cultures, regions, and professional backgrounds.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and coordination capacity.

  • Experience with CRM tools, member management systems, or collaborative platforms (Google Workspace, Airtable, Slack, etc.).
