Climate Change & Health Committee

The Climate Change & Health Committee explores how shifting environmental conditions affect infectious disease dynamics and health system preparedness.
This committee supports IDA’s commitment to a One Health approach by examining the links between ecological transformation and public health, with a focus on vulnerable populations and systems resilience.
Key areas of work include:

  • Strengthening climate-informed disease surveillance and risk mapping

  • Supporting adaptation strategies across sectors (health, agriculture, water/sanitation)

  • Promoting environmental justice and equity-centered policy frameworks

  • Collaborating on research and advocacy at the intersection of climate, health, and development

Through interdisciplinary collaboration, the committee ensures that environmental health becomes central to IDA’s global infectious disease agenda.
