Committees

For IDA, committees serve as both governance bodies and collaborative fora where members can address a wide range of operational, strategic, and thematic areas. These committees will facilitate knowledge sharing, networking, and collaborative initiatives, making them valuable for both IDA and its members. IDA will have two types of committees: disease area-specific committees and cross-cutting committees. These committees will help guide IDA’s work in key focus areas:

Carl Aryan

Partnership & Committees Director

Carl is the Partnership & Committees Director at the Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA), where he leads strategic collaboration efforts and oversees the organization’s core thematic committees. His work spans critical areas including antimicrobial resistance (AMR), digital health and technology, and research and clinical trials—with a strong focus on patient relations and community engagement.
With a Medical Doctorate Degree in Dentistry (D.M.D.) and a background in public health research, Carl brings a multidisciplinary approach to advancing IDA’s mission. He is recognized for his contributions to helping patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and now based in Denmark, continues to champion a “One Health” approach to infectious disease challenges.

Iris Klaasse

Partnership & Committees Coordinator

Iris, a Global Health professional with a nursing background, focuses on tuberculosis prevention and public health in underserved communities. With experience in India, Ethiopia, and Kenya, she seeks to advance equitable healthcare in both clinical and community settings.
