About the job

The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is seeking a motivated and strategic volunteer to serve as Membership Director. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to IDA’s mission of strengthening civil society voices in infectious disease prevention and treatment globally. IDA is a Denmark-based advocacy organization, bringing together member organisations from across research, policy, and global health to drive collective action.
The Membership Director will lead efforts to expand IDA’s membership base, strengthen relationships with existing members, and ensure that organisations find value in being part of the Alliance. Ideal for someone passionate about coalition-building, advocacy, and global health policy.

Responsibilities

  • Membership recruitment: Identify and approach new organisations aligned with IDA’s vision.

  • Onboarding: Guide new members through joining and integration into IDA’s network.

  • Retention & engagement: Maintain strong relationships and provide tailored participation opportunities.

  • Value proposition: Co-design activities and services that deliver value to member organisations.

  • Representation: Serve as main point of contact and convey member perspectives internally.

  • Sustainability: Support growth through membership contributions, partnerships, and visibility.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years’ experience in membership management, partnerships, or stakeholder engagement.

  • Understanding of global health, infectious diseases, or related fields.

  • Proven ability to recruit, retain, and engage organisational members.

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

  • Strategic mindset with practical delivery.

  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
