Research & Clinical Trials

The Research & Clinical Trials Committee promotes patient-centered, ethical, and community-engaged approaches to clinical research across infectious diseases. It was established to enhance transparency, bridge trust between communities and science, and strengthen literacy around clinical trials.

Key priorities include:

  •  Advancing ethical practices and equity in clinical trial design

  •  Building partnerships with patient advocacy groups and research networks

  •  Supporting IDA’s Clinical Trials Dashboard as a global transparency tool

  •  Promoting community engagement and co-authorship in research outputs

This committee fosters collaboration across disciplines to ensure research not only meets global standards, but also reflects local needs and values.

Emad Zahran

Research & Clinical Trials Committee Manager

Emad is a Pharmacy Student and Researcher in Pathology and Pharmacology, with experience in pharmaceutical and health studies and a solid background in project management, initiative leadership, and team coordination. He leverages his health management expertise to design and implement initiatives that enhance health outcomes and support research. By combining his scientific knowledge with experience in project and community management, Emad bridges healthcare research with practical application and community engagement.
