About the job

The Primary Healthcare Coalition (PHCC) is a global, inclusive advocacy and action platform dedicated to advancing integrated, people-centered primary healthcare. PHCC brings together civil society, governments, multilateral organizations, academia, private sector actors, and community-based organizations to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective advocacy for resilient primary healthcare systems.


PHCC is seeking a motivated and organized Student Worker / Intern to support coalition coordination, communications, events, and basic program activities. This position is designed specifically for currently enrolled students seeking practical experience alongside their studies.

The role may be undertaken as:

  • an unpaid internship (with or without academic credit), or

  • a volunteer student worker position

The Student Worker / Intern will work under the supervision of senior PHCC staff. A specific scope of work will be developed and agreed upon with the selected candidate, ensuring alignment with their academic program, learning objectives, availability, and professional goals.

Coalition Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Support day-to-day coordination of PHCC activities under guidance from senior staff

  • Assist with shared calendars, documents, internal communication channels, and task trackers

  • Provide logistical support for coalition meetings (scheduling, agendas, note-taking, follow-up)

Membership & Stakeholder Support

  • Assist with member outreach, onboarding, and engagement

  • Help maintain membership lists, contact databases, and onboarding materials

  • Support inclusive participation by documenting member inputs and feedback

Events & Advocacy Activities

  • Support planning and delivery of webinars, workshops, and advocacy-related events

  • Assist with speaker coordination, event materials, logistics, and post-event follow-up

  • Help compile participant lists, summaries, and feedback

Communications & Content Support

  • Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting meeting summaries, newsletters, briefs, and updates

  • Support digital communications and visibility efforts

  • Help maintain shared communications assets and contact lists

Monitoring, Learning & Reporting Support

  • Assist with tracking activities and participation against agreed workplans

  • Support preparation of internal updates and simple reports

Help maintain organized documentation and knowledge resources

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in global health, public health, international relations, development studies, political science, or a related field

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a support role under supervision

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Able to balance academic commitments with part-time work

  • Interest in global health, primary healthcare, advocacy, or health systems strengthening

Prior coursework, volunteer experience, or student leadership experience is an asset but not required
