This committee aims at exploring how digital tools, data analytics, and technology can support infectious disease prevention and control. It serves as a highly relevant space for knowledge exchange on innovations in health tech, data systems, and digital health platforms.

Members share among each other tech solutions, partner on pilot projects, and explore digital platforms for disease surveillance, diagnostics, and health education.

Climate Change & Health

The Climate Change & Health Committee examines how environmental change affects infectious disease patterns and health system preparedness, supporting IDA’s One Health approach.

Its work focuses on climate-informed surveillance and risk mapping, cross-sector adaptation strategies, environmental justice, and research and advocacy at the intersection of climate, health, and development.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration, the committee helps strengthen resilience and ensure environmental health remains part of IDA’s global infectious disease agenda.

One Health

The One Health approach, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health, is essential for preventing infectious diseases, particularly zoonotic outbreaks. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, it addresses shared health threats, promotes early detection, and reduces risks at the human-animal-environment interface.

Gender Equality in Health

Gender equality is integral to addressing infectious diseases, as women and marginalized genders often face greater barriers to healthcare access, education, and decision-making. Promoting gender equity empowers communities, improves disease prevention and treatment outcomes, and ensures that health responses are inclusive and effective in reducing the burden of infectious diseases.

Pandemic Preparedness & Healthcare Emergency

The Pandemic Preparedness & Healthcare Emergency Committee focuses on anticipating, preparing for, and responding to high-threat infectious disease outbreaks across the full cycle from early detection to long-term recovery

Its work includes pathogen surveillance and horizon scanning, health system resilience and emergency preparedness, coordination with global partners such as WHO, Africa CDC, and CEPI, and the development of shared policy recommendations and crisis knowledge.

The committee helps ensure IDA members are prepared for future pandemics and can contribute to equitable and effective emergency responses.
