About the job
How would you like to put a human face on some of the world's most pressing health challenges? How would you like to capture the stories behind infectious disease policy? And how would you like to help build the visual identity of a young, rising NGO?
If your answer to the questions above is a resounding yes, then we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for a dedicated, ambitious volunteer to bring IDA's mission to life on mobile screens, on desktop screens, and, maybe in time, on the big screen.
You'll join the communications team where you will be responsible for conceiving, shooting, and editing video content across our social media channels, events, and advocacy campaigns. To succeed in this role, you'll work closely with a graphic designer, a social media manager, and a medical journal editor. Great storytelling is a team sport, so you won't be doing this alone.
Responsibilities
Developing a suite of video formats tailored for our channels
Shooting and editing short-form and long-form video content
Covering IDA events, interviews, and assemblies
Producing reels, explainers, and campaign videos
Maintaining a consistent visual style and quality across all content
Requirements
Hands-on experience with camera, lighting, and sound
Solid editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci - you pick)
Experience with royalty-free visuals platforms like Unsplash and Pixabay
A storyteller's instinct for what makes a moment matter
An eye for aesthetics and a nose for narratives
An interest in human issues
Maybe you're a seasoned professional, maybe fresh out of film school. What matters most is your energy, your thirst for knowledge, and of course your love of a good story.
What we offer
Real-World Experience: Gain hands-on experience capturing, editing, and producing compelling visual content as a Videographer at the Infectious Disease Alliance, a global organization focused on infectious disease advocacy and health systems strengthening.

Skill Development: This role comes with real responsibility and a real opportunity to make a difference. You will own our video content, so the creative choices you make today will shape how the world sees IDA into the future. Growth opportunities guaranteed.
Mentorship & Exposure: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and engage with professionals in global health, communications and nonprofit work.
Flexibility: Remote-friendly role with a flexible structure designed to balance impact with your availability.
Impact: Take ownership of IDA’s social media and directly contribute to raising awareness and influencing global health conversations.
How to Apply
Submit your CV and a short cover letter via the “Apply Now” button below. In your cover letter, tell us why you're interested in this role and how your background aligns with the responsibilities.
Sounds interesting? We think so, too.
And yes, let’s address the elephant in the room: This is a volunteer position, so why should you apply? Well, global resources for preventing and treating infectious diseases are unevenly distributed, to put it mildly. This imbalance has catastrophic consequences for hundreds of millions of people in the world’s poorer regions. IDA is determined to change this.
