Research Fellows on Global Health Policy (Unpaid)

Position Overview:
We are seeking motivated and passionate Research Fellows to join our team and contribute to the policy aspects of our work. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence global health policies, collaborate with high-level experts, and tackle pressing challenges in infectious disease policy and governance. Please note that this position is unpaid.​

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed policy mapping to assess the landscape of global and national health policies related to infectious diseases.

Analyze policy trends and their implications for infectious disease prevention, control, and response.

Identify policy gaps and propose actionable recommendations to strengthen global health governance.

Collaborate on drafting policy-oriented sections of the Infectious Disease Report, including executive summaries, recommendations, and case studies.

Engage with global health stakeholders to understand and influence policy development and implementation.
Qualifications:

A Master's degree or higher in Global Health Policy, Public Health or a closely related field.

Demonstrated experience in policy research, analysis or mapping, ideally related to health governance, infectious diseases, or public health systems.

Proven ability to conduct independent research and present data-driven insight effectively.

Passion for global health equity and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment

Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.

About IDA
The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our Policy, Advocacy, and Communications team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to IDA’s mission of advocating for effective infectious disease prevention and treatment policies globally.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing advocacy materials, including position papers, fact sheets, and social media content.

Support policy research and analysis to inform advocacy strategies.

Participate in meetings with global stakeholders and contribute to developing communications strategies.

Draft newsletters, press releases, and content for IDA’s website.

Monitor policy developments relevant to IDA’s mission and prepare briefs for the team.
Requirements
-
Enrolled in or graduated from a degree in Public Health, Political Science, International Relations, Communications, or a related field.

Strong research and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.

Interest in global health, infectious diseases, and advocacy.

Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.

Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications tools.
